We are currently looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer (IBM InfoSphere DataStage and GCP for one of our European clients.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently design, build, and manage data pipelines. Actively participating in code reviews and technical workshops
  • Storing, organizing, and managing huge data volumes
  • Develop and operationalize scalable data transformation pipelines in BigQuery using SQL
  • Data Modelling: Create and manage data models and schemas to support advanced analytics and reporting, taking into consideration business requirements and data standards
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data integration, ETL tools and workflow orchestration tools
  • Collaborate with team members to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical features for the data pipeline
  • Knowledge of data quality management principles
  • Hands-on experience with the CI/CD process and best practices
  • Agile methodology experience, working in sprints and cross-functional teams
  • In spare time, work on internal projects at Progreva (if time permits), and help us ideate and build cool digital products that make an impact in our users’ lives

An Ideal Candidate

  • Has an engineering and a solution mindset. Believes in defining the problem statement, proposing and acting on the optimum solution, rather than “being served a Jira ticket”
  • Has a solid understanding of data engineering and data pipeline creation & maintenance
  • Can demo her/his pet project, or showcase code if possible
  • Has strong ownership and task accountability, and has Good English communication skills
  • Is a humble Team player who is able to work in close collaboration with the rest of the Engineering and Product team and possesses good leadership skills
  • Has previously worked in an international remote distributed team setup, preferably with a Swedish / European client
  • Is process-oriented, and does not hesitate to create processes where they do not exist
  • Is smart, but also acknowledges that there is a lot to learn from other colleagues
  • Is comfortable working during Central European work hours, which would be around 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST
  • Is the one who believes attitude and approach is more important than skillset
  • Has below-desired skillset:
    • InfoSphere DataStage (Mandatory)
    • Dataform (Mandatory)
    • BigQuery (Mandatory)
    • Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release (Required)
    • PL/SQL Release 12.1.0.2.0 (Required)
    • Google Cloud Platform (Mandatory)
    • Real-time processing frameworks (Apache Beam), are nice to have
    • Data Buffering Tools (GCP Pub/Sub), nice to have
    • Python, nice to have
    • Java, nice to have
